Several weeks ago, all of us at PLFixtures were given a demonstration on Unique Lightscape Lighting by Tom Nash of Sea Gull Lighting, regarding the durability and longevity of Sea Gull’s Unique lightscape landscape lighting lightingUnique Lightscape landscape lighting. This is truly an amazing product!  A limited lifetime warranty on the Meridian series, the Signature series and all of the Unique Transformers, as well as a 15 year warranty on the Cypress and Imperial series will back this up. Most fixtures are constructed of solid brass or pure copper sheeting, and are really very heavy duty.  Another impressive attribute is the double gaskets on lamp heads, which protect the bulb and sockets from sprinklers and snow melt – this assures long life, and an ease of maintenance.  We have provided a brief video where Mr. Nash demonstrates some of the above features.

At plumbingandlightingfixures.com we like to recommend Artisan AR3218-D108 16 gauge kitchen sink 16 gauge sinks over 18 gauge. It is as simple as that. After writing on the outstanding warranties on Unique Lightscaping premium landscape lighting fixtures, I thought I had unique lightscaping transformersbetter continue on, adding a little information on Unique Lightscaping transformers. In my opinion, there are three things setting Unique Lightscaping transformers apart in the industry, the warranty, versatility and there construction.

  • The warranty on these transformers is simple! All Unique transformers have lifetime warranty, including the Multi-Matic subterranean series.
  • Unique transformers are veritable Unique Homeline, Multi-Matic Series (except for the Subterranean models), I-Force Series and H-Force Series are Indoor – Outdoor transformers meaning they can be used where ever a extremely reliable, premium low voltage transformer solution is needed.

Unique Lightscape, Homeline Multi-Matic series, I-Force series, H-Force Series and Multi-Matic subterranean transformers are the first phase of the Unique Lightscape power management system. Depending on the model Unique transformers have multiple taps (except the Homeline series) ranging from 12v to 30v to compensate for voltage drop between the transformer and the hub. Unique transformers have the ability for multiple hubs.

The second phase of the power management system is the Intelli-Hub and/or Satellite hubs. The hubs allow for voltage to be distributed evenly among your fixtures OR other hubs. The illustrations below are the best description of how the power management system works. Illustration 1 shows an example of a simple 12V system using a Homeline Series transformer and a single Satellite Hub. For larger systems with longer runs and more lights take a look a t Illustration 2. For Single or Dual 60w Max Class II Transformers

(Class II) wire disk lights directly to the transformer, or select disk lights that are available with plugs to be plugged into transformers with outlets. Example: 9858-15 disk light with 9774 lamp.

1. Disk Light
Determine the quantity of disk lights needed.

2. Lamp
Order one lamp per disk light. WARNING: Serious risk of fire exists when mixing 12v lamps with 24v transformers.

3. Transformer
Watts consumed per lamp X the number of lamps = total watts consumed. Determine transformer size based on total watts consumed. Note: If the transformer size is larger than 60w maximum, see lX Track and Cable installation method. Note: Electronic transformers should be operated between the specified rated wattage.
For Transformer – Class 1

how to congigure ambiance magnetic transformer

(Class 1) the following additional components are required:

1. Fused Plug: You will need one fused plug (9488) per disk light. Fused plugs attach directly to Ambiance Lx Lighting system track and cable.

2. Cable: Determine the length of cable required based on the total length of all runs. Additional cable may be necessary, depending upon transformer location.

Example: 144″ + 24″ from run to transformer = 168″ of cable.
Note: Using 10/2 105C cable (indoors only) the maximum wattage per run is limited to 300w for 12v or 500w for 24v
applications.
(For outdoor use, special 12v 105C cable (9373) must be used).

3. Track: Determine the number of track sections required based on the total length of all runs and cable length. Track sections are sold in 4′ lengths and may be cut to desired size. Additional track may be required based on location of transformer and cable length.

Example: 168″ divided by 48″ (track sections) = 4′.
